January 2013 Website Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've made some updates to the website. I updated the website software, fixed the new user registration and login problem, got a new email newsletter system, and more.

I've also solicited the help of some other gun rights advocates for posting news articles. c-rock (aka Carl Arriaza aka wolverines aka the chair is against the wall) and Brian Hannah aka bhannah.

We met last night and I'm looking forward to utilizing the website again and having some get-togethers for all our members. Most of our members reside in northern IL, so I'm sure we will have an event soon in the Chicago area. If any central or southern IL members want to arrange an event, if you guys can put the location together we will help publicize it, put it out to the email list, and I'm sure many of us from northern IL will drive down to go to it as well. You just have to find the location for us.

We always prefer open carry events in highly visible spots. But you are welcome to do any kind of event of course (doesn't have to be open carry). Open carry gets more mileage, and if you can get the location I will help make the other arrangements such as talking with the police, finding a good charity to benefit, etc.

That's all I guess. This is a huge time for gun rights nationally and in Illinois. We have to be vigilant and diligent to make sure we keep our rights. It's time to play a little offense too, and that's what we like doing here Smile

I was a little worried when the site would not show up. Glad to see if was a temporary thing.
