Very cool!
Hopefully Illinois won't drag their feet on coming up with something.
And they better not say you can't carry in cook county.
This is an epic day for us Illinois gun owners! |

Finally! This is what we've all been waiting for! Now let's hope they don't make us pay an arm and a leg to exercise our rights! We win, the Chicago machine looses! |

IT'S ABOUT TIME!!
That being said, this is the "district" court. You know damn good and well "Q-ball" Quinn will appeal it to the Appellate court and ultimately to the SCOTUS. By that time, Dumbo may have had a chance to "alter" the make-up of the court.
But at least it is a start! |

This is a Federal US Court of Appeals already it is not a lower district court that made this decision. It has already mandated that a law will be in affect within 180 days, period. It is so about time!!! |

Fine with me if they want to do nothing for 180 days, then anyone with a FOID can carry. |

While this is good news, and a step in the right direction... I am less than optimistic. Illinois still has the ability to opt for a "may issue" status, where in one will need to provide proof of a need to carry, and the criteria they can create to justify a need may not be obtainable.
NOW is the time to start, and to continue for the next 180 days, to contact your local representative and lobby for the passage of a meaningful law that will not inhibit law abiding citizens' right to carry. |

The link didn't work. I had to shorten it and search it.
Use this link instead, then click on "Opinion" for the "Michael Moore vs. Lisa Madigan" case.

The PDF is 47 pages with the interesting part starting on Page 7. |

I posted a reply on " The forum that shall not be named " that open carry should be included in any new court ordered firearms law.
It was instantly removed by the moderators.
Why are the Concealed Only bunch so selfish? Why do they demand to press their will on other gun owners?
In many ways, the Concealed Only bunch are more damaging to our 2nd Amendment rights than the anti's. |

LOL! Kurt you are always getting stepped on.
My understanding is that Posner wrote in the the supreme courts previous ruling that "the 2A is as important in the home as well as out of the home"
Supreme court has the option to hear it but may not. If the state appeals it they risk the chance of having a shall issue across the board. Meaning CA, NY and the like would be PISSED!!!
We will not allow a may issue bill, we are the ones in power now. If they give us a bill that we don't like they don't get the votes to pass it!
That is to the best of my understanding! |

Hopefully when the court stated "reasonable law" they will not except something that we surely expect the IL Mafiaticians to write.
I've had to keep myself from moving so many times in the last 11 years. If it weren't for my kids, grandkid,etc.. we would have stay in NC. I t was a real blow to move here after 20 years in the Corps and being told that I am not responsible enough to defend myself with a weapon. |

I hate to sound like a downer, but I'm not getting my hopes up until some sort of a law is signed. I've gotten my hopes up too many times....
With that said, I will be on the phone tomorrow to my legislators. It is a GIANT step in the right direction, but close only counts with horse shoes and hand grenades.
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in the governor's office today when he found out. |
