As some of you may know, Lobby Day -- an annual event started by the ISRA -- has been tentatively scheduled for March 14, 2007. No matter what the date winds up being, or where the event is held (the capitol is going to be worked on), we'll be there!
Get out and join us, it's only ONE day of your year. We're asking you to take ONE day off of work or school. One day can make a huge difference in the direction of the state.
This event has also been called "IGOLD" or Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day. It will be a joint effort by a number of organizations, including ICarry.org. We will have numerous buses traveling and making stops in different areas to pick attendees up. I'm not sure of the other locations of buses, but we will definitely have one coming from Rockford and travelling straight down 39 and possibly making 1 or 2 stops. If you are in Rockford or the surrounding area and interested -- let me know! We can make arrangements if you want to leave your car parked somewhere or anything like that. If you are on the route from Rockford to Springfield and interested in hopping on the bus, let us know too. Get some of your friends and we can make a stop!
Cost of Rockford bus sponsored (maybe co-sponsored) by ICarry.org: approx $1100
There will probably be a small admission fee for the bus of no more than $20 (perhaps $10 or $15 depending on what kind of sponsorship/donations we can get). This is a small price to pay for the chance to spend the day with a ton of fellow gun owners, see the capitol, and talk to your legislators! There will be a lot of activities planned that day, and it is well worth it. We will do our best to find sponsorship so the cost is reduced to attendees as much as possible.
Don't miss out, join me and everyone else on this day |

In years past, a few folks were sent home on legislative day for wearing hunting camo and even bowie knives! ISRA will have some more information about effective ways to visit the legislature. But a few good points are- Identify your own state legislators! here is the link- http://www.ilga.gov/
Your own state senator and rep will be more impressed by a voting constituent visiting the Springfield office rather than than just a pass through group. Create a college term-paper type "position paper" about what you are advocating. ISRA can probably help out with this. |

To All Member,
I wil be attending the IGOLD on March 14th. I have written two time to Wayne LaPierre requesting his attendance in Springfield at our event. I have received no reply from him or his office. I understand his busy schedule and respect how busy the man is but we need him to make an appearance on IGOLD. His presence would have a huge impact on the legislators, new media, and members. We need to make a strong showing this year as the state considers a state wide ban on the so called 'assualt weapons'. I am urging all memebers and veiwers of this message to write to Wayne and request his attendance for IGOLD. We must show our legislators that we are a serious pro gun force and will not give up our constitutional rights without a fight.

Would suggest Ted Nugent. He would have a much bigger impact. |
