Here's some insider info. From someone inside the belly of the beast.
"Because the vote was so close, they can bring it back. Quinn was calling people on the floor to stop them from voting for it. The Republicans were all together, but the black caucus folded. I was so disappointed. There will be another vote."

in a second reply: "If they want to extend it they can, but I do not think they will do that."

So, it seems that Rep. Phelps called for the Postponed Consideration because there were some lefties trying to screw up the vote. Good call.

Also, there was an article on it in the Sun-Times that said the vote failed. I called the writer and told his intern that they published misinformation and to change it.

Look out today for a final vote on it, but it also could be extended.

The bill can be pulled up anytime during the 97th general assembly. All the way until 2013. I am hoping that they can resolve something but it looks like it will be a long haul. They are just gonna play politics for a while and see if they can turn it.

You're absolutely right Mike...it is not dead.
we must double our resolve. If not only to get the bill ressurected, and passed...but two fold to get the anit gun "nay" votes defeated in 2012.
they are all up for re-election, and we must make it our duty to have them "targeted" for defeat.
