Why didn't he use the 33 round mags? Then he would only need 31 mags. |

Ok, who wants to donate a Glock 19 and 1,000 rounds of ammo? That looked fun. |

Any gun will do. Anyone with an XD or a sig or any glock, or whatever. I'd love to see how different guns stack up against a test like this. It would be useful info for anyone who is in the market for a new pistol. If we got 10-20 people to each put in a box of 50-100 rounds we could do this cheaply. I'd throw in a box of cheap wal-mart ammo.
Whichever gun we can find the most magazines for...... |

I'd love to test my Sig 226. As soon as I get a backup gun. I'm sure it would pass with flying colors, but I'd want one just to be on the safe side.
How did the spring guide rod melt, that should be made out of stainless steel. At least I think they are with the Sigs. Must be poor craftsmanship. haha just kidding. |

Its plastic on the glock, and i always thought it looked a little weak. It took about 800 rounds within about 10 minutes to cause it to melt, and the gun still fired through many mags after than, but still a weak link in the chain. They make stainless steel guide rods aftermarket, which i may check into now. |

And that is why I am biased toward Sigs. Quality craftsmanship. They don't skimp out. They are reliable as hell. Sure under normal conditions the plastic will be fine, but over time you will build up structural deficiencies and may need to replace it.
Do you know if any other manufacturers use plastic guide rods? I'm sure there are. I just want to know which ones they are. |

Don't go getting all technical on me now!!! Almost 200 rounds fired after it shot out of the gun...........pretty darn good IMHO!!!! Weak link......maybe. A good upgrade...........yeah probably. Absolutely needed.......probably not in normal use. |
