I've taken numerous tactical training courses for both pistol and carbine. Running around, ducking, moving fast, kneeing etc can put your weapon in crazy positions. And Murphy's law dictates if something bad can happen, it will. If you're going into a situation where you expect this, then lease your pistol. Most CCW guys likely won't need this, but it does add to the cool factor. And it can really complement your body armor!

Uh, just want to warn you, if you are successful in joining Indiana then you'll have to learn to live with lower taxes on your property, lower income taxes, lower sales tax, lower gas tax, fewer toll roads, and simpler gun laws. Lifetime carry licenses (that allow both open carry and concealed carry) for a cost of under $150 and don't require idiotic qualification classes. Heck we don't even have FOID cards Rolling Eyes I know it would be a hardship for some of you to give up all those taxes, but think about it, you'd also have the benefit of only having a part time legislature and a vastly fiscally more responsible government. I'm just saying that there is a reason I live on this side of the state line, even if I am close enough to see Illinois when I look out the windows of my home.
